Click above to see a video I selected for you. I am thrilled to report that all of the videos in MTV's archives are now available on a cool new site, along with fun info about artists (here's what they have on Deee-lite). Not clear what the revenue model is - it looks like there's an ad unit at the top as well as one on the side, but these are currently filled with "house" ads for the content. Perhaps ultimately to be filled with links to purchase tracks from iTunes or Amazon?
In any case, it delights me for some reason to have all the videos I jammed to for years at ready hand and able to share.
Thanks to Three Minds for the tip!
I got really excited about this, went to the site, found a video I wanted, clicked play and then 'COPYRIGHTS RESTRICT US FROM PLAYING THIS VIDEO OUTSIDE OF THE US.' (Yes it is in capital letters.)
This site looks awesome, but it seems like us Europeans will have to stick with YouTube for the time being.........
