Corporate America trying to invade/take advantage of new technologies (ie. social networking) doesn't always take hold...
"Wal-Mart Shuts Down the Hub."
Retailer's Foray Into Social Networking Closes After Less Than Three Months
The stats: "In August, the site attracted 91,000 unique visitors, according to ComScore Networks. Social-networking giant MySpace.com garnered 55.8 million unique visitors the same month."
No surprise there. Let's think about what they did wrong...it probably started with them shouting "me too!!" at their agency as they tried to ride the CGM wave. They were offered a recommendation to build a social networking site for teens, which they executed with a heavy, heavy hand. Content was regulary scrubbed by corporate to ensure it was acceptable material, teens were required to get parental permission before creating a page, and they developed fake users to populate the site early on and make it look "cool". Be a little more conservative whydontchya - that'll win teens everytime.

Thank god! Man, that thing was destined for failure from the beginning!
Kudos to them for trying something new, at least.
