According to this great post from PSFK's blog a growing number of Britons are shopping online after one too many drinks, resulting in the spread of a new syndrome called BLOTO (at least according to new research). What's BLOTO? - it stands for Buying Loads Of Tat Online
Tat means stuff for those of you non Brits out there (please correct me if I'm wrong, friends across the pond)Customer experience firm Conchango found that 7% of Britons know someone who has shopped online while under the influence. The survey also found that 6% of all Britons know someone who has shopped online in a state of undress. Their survey suggests that “Customers will behave very differently when in the comfort of their own homes and ‘hidden’ behind the anonymity afforded by the Internet. This is underlined by the fact that many do it in a state of undress.”
What does this mean for marketing? Let me know your thoughts.
Clearly Americans never shop online while intoxicated.
